ACT homes owners are required by legislation to keep trees and vegetation clear of overhead powerlines, power poles, overhead cables and other overhead infrastructure maintained by ActewAGL.
Trees growing too close to powerlines are a significant safety risk – they can cause fires, bring down lines leading to the risk of electrocution, cause blackouts and make it difficult for maintenance to be carried out. The home owner may be responsible for the cost of damage to ActewAGL infrastructure caused by trees, or other vegetation on their property.
Only tree surgeons who are accredited with ActewAGL are authorised to work in close proximity to powerlines. (See ActewAGL website for more information).
O’Briens Tree Services are ActewAGL accredited and are fully trained to undertake powerline clearing in a safe manner. We are happy to discuss any aspect of powerline clearing with you.
